Bicentennial Commemorative History Book
Doug Sikes, with Acclaim Press, has been selected as the publisher. Doug is a Kentucky boy, although he claims Sikeston, Missouri as home.
Local Kentucky author Bobbie Smith Bryant was asked to write the publication and she is working with more than 150 writers in the community who are sharing stories about our 200-year heritage and culture.
Members of the Calloway County Genealogical and Historical Society are working with Bobbie to contribute to and promote the book. There is still time for you to come forward with your ideas and submissions for the book. If you want to write something, you can. If you'd prefer not to write but you've got an idea for something to be included, please get in touch with Bobbie at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The deadline for submissions is September 1, 2021 with the Special Sponsorship deadline October 31, 2021.
Submission guidelines are available by clicking here.
Example stories included in the book include:
Special pages are allocated for sponsorships so that those interested can shine a spotlight on their contributions to the county's history. If you're organization, your business or your church wants to have a larger space or more photographs, that's possible. For those who purchase a full-page sponsorship, your copy of the book will be free. Download this PDF for more information.
